Marketing. Content. Content marketing. Marketing content.
That’s all we hear about. We need to create content to market our businesses. I should know this more than anyone; we’re in the content marketing business. So, every so often I have to remind myself to practice what we preach.
On a recent walk into the office, I was reminded of a client that
hired us to produce a video for their video brochure. If you haven’t heard of video brochures, prepare to be blown away. It’s basically a cardboard brochure with a full-blown tablet computer inside. When you open it, a video automatically plays. Talk about grabbing someone’s attention! These are pretty amazing, and the cost is becoming more reasonable by the day. I searched and searched and found a great manufacturer to partner with on this venture; I say partner because I’m not just looking to make them for myself, but I’d like to offer them to clients.
The team and I sat down and brainstormed for a bit. We wanted to make sure that the video had a narrow purpose, clear intention, and was brief. We decided to just have me sit in the studio while the guys interviewed me for about an hour. With their genius editing skills, the final cut is a quick and beautiful look at what we do and ends with a clear call to action.
Then it came time to design the packaging. We decided to keep it simple and let the video speak for itself. So much so that we actually just wrote “We’ll let our work speak for itself” on the inside.
When the sample came in, I was really impressed. Take a look at the video unboxing above.
All in all, the process took about a month from settling on specs (the screen size, resolution, etc), producing the video, approval of a sample, to final delivery. Not bad. The best part is that clients are opening them at their desks and saying, “I want that”, and now we can deliver for them.
If you’re interested in a video brochure or any type of video content marketing, give us a call. We love what we do, and we’re really good at it.
